Cabaret in London
First night March 30th
After becoming a hit on the touring circuit, this delightfully spirited musical from Matthew Bugg lands in the West End for an eight-week run. Telling the story of one 'Miss Nightingale', a cockney nurse who finds herself the star of a salacious new underground cabaret during the Blitz. But it's not all high-kicks and stockings, for the smoky club is also the meeting place of George and Sir Frank, a couple who's love is deemed by society as 'the evil within'. Miss Nightingale explores the persecution and prejudice that gay men faced during the 1940s, against a backdrop of glamour, showbiz and sex that provides a welcome freedom from oppression.
