Crude and boring, Oct 29, 2011 |
| reviewer: Anonymous from London |
| This play appeals to a specialist audience - one who has no problem with the c and f words being used in almost every sentence. Brilliant acting from the lead but a very thin story line and same boring set used throughout. Added to that being shown in a theatre which was like a sauna and the seats in the Upper Circle having extremely poor visibility even for full price tickets made for a very disappointing experience. |

Brilliant, Feb 11, 2010 |

| Saw Jerusalem last week and it was the best play I have ever seen, just fantastic. Rylance is brilliant in the lead role, but the rest of the cast are equally oustanding. Haven't laughed that much in a long long time. Well done. |

Apollo Theatre lets down play and cast, Nov 16, 2011 |
| reviewer: Sue besser from London, England |
| What a fantastic play. My husband and I wonder how Mark Rylance can still speak and stand after his performance as Johnny every night. That said, we had front row Dress Circle seats which were woeful and a disgrace. The seats were old and hard; to see the front of the stage was impossible without leaning forward, and the acoustics were grim. We stood at the BACK of the Dress Circle, and were able to hear far better ! Daylight robbery. Truly a betrayal of a wonderful play with wonderful actors. |

Jerusalem at the Apollo, Apr 04, 2010 |
| reviewer: Esther Morris from UK |
| The play is well crafted and Mark Rylance gives a powerful performance. It slowed down in pace towards the end and I felt it could have done with a bit of editing to reduce the length and have only one interval. My huband and I sat in seats D6 and D 7 in the Upper Circle and it was almost impossible to see the action at the front of the stage. Also the seats are very close together. I expect more for tickets that cost almost £40 each. |
