WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Roger is in despair with his mid-twenties son Charlie, who seems hellbent on wasting his life.So he decides to pen a series of letters that document their turbulent yet loving relationship, spanning the first 25 years of Charlie's life. What ensues is a brilliantly hilarious, touching and surprisingly generous memoir ode to a wayward son, and despairing father.

Twice-winning BAFTA Award recipient James Fox has appeared extensively on film and TV including A Passage To India, Patriot Games, The Remains of the Day and Downton Abbey, playing the stoic Roger, whilst Jack who has appeared in television programmes such as Mr Selfridge, Fresh Meat and Dracula, plays the errant son, Charlie. Stirring and Sentimental

Though doused with the odd bit of sentiment that is a bit too sweet, Dear Lupin is overall a stirring portrayal of a father-son relationship that will certainly leave you wanting to contact with your own family as soon as you leave the theatre. It is quite British in its humour and the history it revisits, but also modern as it tackles some big issues which, at that tie, were swept under the table.
