A POLITICALLY RELEVANT BLACK COMEDY IN ELECTION YEAR

With the 2015 General Election looming on the horizon, this blackly comical offering by former Fleet Street journalist Mark Jagasia at the Arcola sees Clare Higgins and Greg Hicks engage a battle of wits as two journalists at the "world's worst newspaper".

What is it about?

Hicks plays Morris Honeyspoon, the narcissistic, egomanial editor of the Daily Clarion, who discovers that one of his staff has blown the whistle on some of the newspaper's biggest crimes. With all the paper's dirty methods, illegal and downright unethical behaviour about to be exposed publicly, he desperately needs to find the culprit within his ranks. However, he hasn't banked on fading foreign correspondent Verity Stokes , who has some dark machinations of her own.....

With recent news coming out about phone-hacking at The Mirror and the Telegraph's HSBC scandal, this play could not come at a more opportune time, as nationalism and political wheeler-dealing appears to be gathering speed in the real world. This production will ruffle feathers both in the West End and on Fleet Street!
