All That Fall

Until May 14, 2016

This new revival of Samuel Beckett's little-known play transfers to the Arts Theatre from Bristol Arts Theatre this spring, directed in an innovative dark setting by the acclaimed Max Stafford-Clark. Originally a radio play, this new stage production transforms the audience viewing into a blindfolded aural experience, creating a haunting and immersive evening.

A View From Islington North

May 18-July 2, 2016

Max Stafford-Clark directs this ferocious new satirical anthology that lampoons the government; this is a set of five plays within a play that is sure to draw sharp breaths down at the Whitehall establishment, with each story written by some of the best talent in theatre including David Hare, Carys Churchill and Mark Ravenhill, to name just three. If you enjoy your polemical drama, this is one evening you'd be crazy to miss.

American Idiot

July 8-September 25, 2016

Broadway hit musical American Idiot returns this July to The Arts Theatre for another engagement! A bold, angry punk-rock exploration of post 9-11 angst, American Idiot follows three rebellious youths who are desperate to escape from their dozing, conservative hometown. Musician Newton Faulkner joins the cast as the lead, Johnny! Not for the faint-hearted, this show moves at a breakneck pace, perfectly demonstrating the anger of the original album. Think Rent's themes of broken dreams meeting the big numbers of Rock of Ages, and you're halfway there.

Murder Ballad

September 29-December 3, 2016

An explosive and sexy rock musical is headed across to the West End this autumn, starring British-born Wicked and Cats alumnus Kerry Ellis. Follow the story of Sara, a young woman living on New York's Upper West Side, who finds that her past downtown threatens to draw her back into dangerous ways. A powerful tale of temptation and tangled love affairs, this will be lighting up the stage!
