The Soul Man

I'm a soul man

The show was great fun from start to finish & hearing good live music in a good atmosphere was so refreshing! Don't worry that there isn't much of a story line (in fact no story), the famous scences in the film are reproduced as a means to link the songs & the live music was just fantastic! The band rocked, all looking sharp in their white shirts and black glasses and all played fantastically well. Enjoyed Jake & Elwood's Chicago accents (altho probably the weakest singers in the cast) but difficult to compete with the man playing the role of the Preacher/Ray Charles who brought a brilliant energy & enthusiasm to the production. However the stars for me were the 3 girls, especially Helen who truely put her soul into her performance, leaving the audience in a state of disbelief before getting the longest round of applause of the evening! Quality evening, so good to see and hear some real music. Also audience participation is dancing only if you feel like it so don't be put off! ... Read more

Wicked & Wonderful West End Blues Brothers

Went to see show last night with my husband and two children aged 11 and 8. Had a wicked time - real feel good show - we all came out of theatre singing and dancing. Great performances by all the cast. Lovely small and intimate venue. Kids loved every minute even though they were not familiar with the blues brothers or any of their song before we went (they have sinced downloaded loads to their i-pods). We had great seats (Row D) and fantastic view. Would def recommend for all the family. ... Read more
