A truly inspiring event.
Benedict Cumberbatch
Once again London plays host to a phenomenal tribute to written correspondence. Attracting some of the biggest names in British showbusiness, this unique stage event returns this October with a changing cast, having first premiered at the Tabernacle in December 2013. The show takes inspiration from two works of literary art, namely Shaun Usher's best-selling Letters of Note series and Simon Garfield's To the Letter, which both chronicle some of history's most compelling and heart-wrenching messages. Forget Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger for the night and rediscover the art of the letter as they are read out loud.
This year's reading cast features a luminary number of voices from across the entertainment industry; each night's lineup will not be revealed until you sit down in your seats. For this year's event, the readers will be: Gillian Anderson, Matt Berry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, John Bishop, Louise Brealey, Edith Bowman, Jarvis Cocker, Lily Cole, Julian Clary, Jamie Cullum, Sophie Dahl, Simon Day, Omid Djalili, Mariella Frostrup, Charlie Heaton, Keaton Henson, Toby Jones, Jude Law, Miriam Margolyes, Michael Palin, Nicholas Parsons, Robert Rinder, Colin Salmon and Juliet Stevenson. Please note however, that the lineup is subject to change!
Opening night: 4 October 2016
