Filthy Business

Until April 22, 2017

A world premiere production makes its debut at the Hampstead Theatre this March, by playwright Ryan Craig. Set in 1968, this satirical drama takes a wry look at the entrepreneurial efforts of an East End family - not all of which, is strictly above board. Centred on Jewish matriarch Yetta Solomon, we follow her struggles trying to keep her family to toe the line and keep the shop business in their legacy, despite their apparent efforts to derail it! Having faced down economic downturns, local competitors and even lack of money, it would appear that her greatest challenge comes from those closest to her.

Occupational Hazards

April 28-June 3, 2017

A political intrigue that could outdo the chaos of today's White House, this new play by Stephen Brown, is based on the memoirs of British diplomat Rory Stewart, was was given the seemingly easy task of governing post-war Iraq. All he had to do was maintain the peace, right? Wrong. What he faced was a conflagration of tribal differences, ethnic tension and sectarian violence from the deposed leaders of the Saddam regime. Freedom from tyranny was supposed to be peaceful - what this governor faced was anything BUT peaceful, when faced with political machinations from all sides.

Gloria

June 15-July 22, 2017

Following its 2017 Chicago staging, the exciting new comedy drama by Branden Jacob-Jenkins appears on the UK stage for the first time this summer, at the Hampstead Theatre. Helmed by Michael Longhurst, the play first premiered off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre in 2015, becoming a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Michael Longhurt's previous projects include the much publicised If There Is I Havenít Found It Yet, which marked Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal's stage debut in 2012.
