A defining voice of our time.
The New York Times
She may not be as well-known on this side of the Atlantic as some of her Broadway contemporaries, but Audra MacDonald is set to light up the Leicester Square Theatre for one night only in January for a special concert that sees her belt out some of The Great White Way's best-loved show standards! The six-times Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winning actress and singer has starred in Broadway's biggest shows including Porgy and Bess, Ragtime and A Raisin In The Sun over the past decade, and last appeared in the UK at the 2002 Last Night Of The Proms.
From Rodgers and Hammerstein to the Gershwins with a little Sondheim for good measure, this special concert will take you on a journey through theatre's most-loved standards.
MacDonald's performing career is an illustrious one, having been classically trained at New York's famed Juilliard School. She has also appeared singing with virtually every major American orchestra , as well as Europe. One of the few performers to continually grace Carnegie Hall, she has performed there a phenomenal 17 times!
