Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston makes his London stage debut in a brand new adaptation of Paddy Chayefsky's 1976 chilling black comedy. A landmark satire, Network is the story of newsreader Howard Beale who becomes disenfranchised with the way that proper 'news' is being made into a circus. After being fired following ailing ratings, Beale's desperation leads him to deliver the rant of his career, threatening a bloody outcome to his final broadcast. Whilst planning his on-air suicide ratings go sky high in this cautionary tale of outrage and exploitation.
Recognised as one of the greatest screenplays of all time, Network's message of frustration at modern society and media puppetry for profit only gains significance as the years pass. This new production is adapted by Lee Hall, with direction from the highly critically acclaimed Ivo Van Hove whose works have flown across the pond to Broadway and back again with increasing speed over the last few years.
Oscar, Emmy and Tony Winning Bryan Cranston is well known across the world as beleaguered drug lord Walter White in the hit series Breaking Bad, but has been working steadily across the world of stage and screen for over 30 years as an actor, director, and screenwriter. Even though this is is his long-awaited West End debut, he's already proved his acting chops, winning the 2014 Tony Award for best Actor for his performance as Lyndon Johnson in All The Way.
