Why See The Light Princess?

MusicalsFamily Shows

This brand new musical - five years in the making - from singer/songwriter Tori Amos is a dark coming-of-age fairytale about grief, rebellion and the power of love. Created in partnership with playwright Samuel Adamson and directed by Marianne Elliott (Curious Incident, War Horse), it's time to embrace the dark side of fairytales....

Once, in opposing kingdoms lived a princess and a prince whose mothers had both died. The princess, Althea, unable to cry, became light with grief and floated, and so was locked away. The prince, Digby, became so heavy-hearted that he was unable to smile, and so he trained as a fierce warrior.

When war is declared, Althea is forced out of hiding and to go to ground but, in defiance of her father, she escapes, only to encounter the solemn prince on contested land....
