The classic musical ridin' into a city near you!
"I'd Do Anything" winner Jodie Prenger and ex-Emmerdaler Tom Lister will be teaming up for a UK tour of this new stage adaptation of the best-loved film starring Doris Day and Howard Keel.
Tough-talking tomboy "Calam" walks, talks, shoots and spits like a guy, so much so that the local men in town can't take her seriously. She's proud and boastful, although unbeknownst to anybody, she harbours a passion for a local army officer, Danny Gilmartin. She is forced to confront jealousy and insecurity for the first time with the arrival of a glamourous young stage star who breezes in from Chicago for the Deadwood Stage, and who catches Danny's eye immediately.
Calam struggles to become more feminine and demure with hilarious results, and sometimes butting heads with her new friend Katie Brown, realises that the guy of her dreams was waiting for her without her even knowing it, in the form of one Wild Bill Hicock.
The show features the Oscar-nominated The Black Hills of Dakota, The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away), Just Blew in from the Windy City and the Award winning song Secret Love. A must-see for Doris Day fans, this is a whip-crackingly good tribute.
