Giselle
Why see Giselle?
English Youth Ballet presents an appealing and dramatic production of Giselle set on an English country estate with an 'upstairs downstairs' flavour about a young governess who is betrayed by the unfaithful Prince Albert.
In her ultimate heartbreak, untimely death and afterlife her love saves him from the revenge of the Wilis.
With enchantingly sumptuous costumes, pretty scenery and spectacular dancing, the production brings Giselle into this century with warmth, colour and drama.

Giselle Ballet
A young peasant girl, Giselle, is in love with Albrecht, a Duke who hides his title and his engagement to another. When Giselle discovers he has deceived her, she is driven to madness, and dies of a broken heart.
I saw Giselle at the Coliseum in London with a live orchestra. The dancing was beautiful and the storyline was both heartbreaking and even funny at times. It is only the second ballet I have seen as I saw the Nutcracker a few years ago. I had an amazing view of both the orchestra and the stage. Watching the dancers on stage inspired me and made me want to continue dancing.
