Julius Caesar

The dictator must be assassinated. But who will replace him?
Why see Julius Caesar?
Shakespeare’s great political thriller, Julius Caesar, finds dark, contemporary echoes in modern Africa, directed by RSC Chief Associate Director Gregory Doran.
Gregory’s most recent productions include Shakespeare’s ‘lost play’ Cardenio, re-imagined as part of the RSC’s 50th birthday celebrations, as well as his 2008 production of Hamlet.

In my top 3 productions of Shakespeare plays in 47 years of theatre going. Amazing staying, acting and, of course, sure ting. Thank you . Worth travelling 80 miles to see! Great view from gallery 3 B seating. ... Read more

Not perfect but close
Overall this is an exceptional production that
works extremely well. The balance and pace
of the production are thoughtful and satisfying.
The temporal transposition, so suitable for
this play works beautifully.
Highly recommended.
Cassius, Caesar and Anthony are all superb
throughout. Brutus grows through the evening
but ultimately seemed miscast in this
particular role.
View from 3A was good, but you really had to
sit forward much of the time. Sorry to those in
3B behind. The promenaders below must
have had a great experience, but they surely
needed stamina for 2 hours.
Ate at Tom Simmons around the corner
beforehand - also excellent food and
reasonable prices (with good veggie choices).
All in all an unforgettable first visit to the
Bridge.
