As one of our country's leading actors, I can't imagine there is anyone better placed to understand both the power and importance of smaller scale theatres and the challenges they face.
Jez Bond, Park Theatre
A special engagement awaits you at Park Theatre this July, as veteran actor and movie icon Sir Ian McKellan returns to the stage, in a one-man show to support the off-West End theatre. Performing nine of his best-known roles of the past 50 years (both stage and screen), there will also be an audience participation and discussion section, where different directors and fellow actors (to be confirmed) will join him on stage. From Gandalf to Macbeth, to Godot, see why this multi-award-winning actor is now a best-loved British institution.
With the play and discussion helmed by the Theatre's artistic director Jez Bond, this exciting event is aimed to raise money for the relatively new venue, which has built a reputation for encouraging new talent and staging new works that could be looked over by companies nearer to central London.
Opening night: 3 July 2017
Suitable for ages 14+ due to mature language
Approximately two hours, including one interval
You may be required to wear a mask during this performance. Please contact the venue directly for more information.
