A slick, punchy, black comedy and a psychological thriller, full of sharp, stylish and intelligent writing.
Gscene, Brighton
Fresh from its successful pre-London run in Brighton, this new black comedy by Simon David Eden makes its way into the Park Theatre for a limited run in early 2017. Starring Monarch of the Glen's Hamish Clark as a down-on-his-luck shop owner, we follow a trio of grifters who happen upon a potential windfall in cash, albeit one that has serious legal ramifications if they are caught by the feds. A darkly comic exploration of the much maligned Eagle Feather law in the USA, this knife-sharp play looks at how the American Dream can turn into a nightmare!
Glen Lacy is a hard-done-by shop owner who is struggling to keep afloat, when his shady associate walks in with a potential lifeline - a dead valuable bird. Planning to sell the feathers on the black market to make a potential fortune, Glen is warned by his employee Lullaby about the risks involved in trafficking these feathers; get caught and your're looking at the business end of a huge fine and a long stay in prison - something that Lullaby has personal experience of.
