I KNOW I CAN'T GIVE SEVEN, BUT I WISH I COULD GIVE 8

A spur of the moment decision lead us to Blood Brothers Sat 2nd July. We had seen the show before at Coventry and thought we would give the "big stage" a chance, what we found was a lovely intimate theatre The Phoenix which made us feel part of the show. Willy Russell brilliant, Mickey's I'm Nearly 8 soliloquy is fabulous. The understudy played Micky on Sat but looked like he had been doing it forever, not a line or stage direction out of place. Praise needs to go to the ensemble cast who played ALL the other characters and as the only other female player apart from the 3 leads the lass who played Donna Marie must've been exhausted. The Narrator had a tremendous voice which chilled you where it was supposed to and made you empathise were you needed to. One tiny flaw, Natasha, fab voice, very professional but tendancy to overact needs a bit of work. Highly highly highly recommended
