"Seems like the worth of a colored man, once he’s made free, is less than his worth when he’s a slave"
Don't miss this brand new production at the Royal Court of Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks' epic work of war and freedom.
Telling the story of Hero, a southern slave during the Civil War era, Father Comes Home From The Wars is a grand scale trilogy that takes the audience on a journey from West Texas to the Confederate battlefields. Inspired by the sprawling Greek tales of heroism and exploration, it promises to be a powerful night at the theatre as Hero examines the mess of war and the true price of his own freedom.
