One of Shobana Jeyasingh’s best works
The Guardian, review of Terra Incognito
One of the UK's most respected modern dance companies once again wows Sadlers Wells with a triple bill of performances that explores the darker side of the human psyche. At the centre of the bill is Shobana Jeyasingh's celebrated work Terra Incognita, a combination of Indian dance and Gabriel Prokofiev, evoking the mystery of ancient seafarers.
Murder is at the heart of Macbeth-based work Tomorrow, as Lucy Guerin's first piece for Rambert. The Scottish lord's descent into psychopathy and murderous rage is translated into a driven and disturbing dance sequence.
The final work, A Linha Curva, was nominated in 2010 for an Olivier Award for Best Dance Production. This samba-inspired explosion of dance sees 28 dancers writhe and jump amidst heavy percussion and riotous lighting, leaving audiences breathless at the end!
