If you adverse to sequins, frills, glitter balls, smouldering looks and glistening muscular torsos then you probably won't have a good time. Burn the Floor is as tacky and flash as you'd expect but guarantee's to with make every Strictly fan's heart leap with joy!
Headlined by Strictly Come Dancing's golden couple Brian Fortuna and Ali Bastian, who came third in the 2009 series, the show features 9 more dance couples from across the globe.
From starry eyed, rather sedate waltzes' to the lindy and the rumba this show is all about variety. The dancers move to the vision of choreographer and director Jason Gilkison, former World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancer. The dance where one waltzing couple is mirrored by another behind a screen was both stunning and elegant.
The tight, sparkly, skimpy costumes are rather daring, especially with all the steamy embraces. However they do show off the performers' athletic bodies and provide a little eye candy for the audience. The cast are highly professional; it's a wonder how they manage to keep up their energy performing 9 shows a week, especially in stiletto heels!
The set is simple; it features a bandstand, central staircase and a giant glitter ball. Two singers and two percussionists perform some numbers live but a great deal of the music is recorded. From loved up classics to more upbeat dance anthems.
The audience absolutely loved the show, with most rising to their feet at curtain call this modern and saucy look at ballroom is no doubt going to be a hit in London this summer.
