Are we ultimately responsible for the sins of our fathers?
This profoundly dark play examines what happens when one forced to come to terms with a devastating family secret.
As a teenager growing up in Paraguay during WWII, Rudi lived an idyllic existence, blissfully unaware of his father's occupation halfway across the world in war-torn Germany. When a friend of Rudi breaks the news that his father has been working with the SS at Auschwitz, Rudi's world falls apart - and so begins a journey to redemption in Berlin, right to the aftermath of the Holocaust itself. When Rudi meets the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, he is forced to confront his past, and his obsession with making his father pay for his crimes.
With 2014 being the centenary of the start of WW1, the subject of war will be given due prominence on the London stage this year.
