The world premiere stage adaptation comes this Christmas!
Southwark Playhouse presents their 2016 Christmas show, a brand-new stage adaptation of the popular Studio Ghibli movie Kiki's Delivery Service! In turn based on the Japanese children's novel by Eiko Kadono, the new show has been adapted for the stage by Jessica Sian and directed by Kate Hewitt, and is a charming coming-of-age tale about a young witch who tentatively goes out into the world and finds her path, with all the challenges that this entails. A must-see for fans of the story!
Kiki, a 13-year old novice witch must leave her provincial home and make her own fortune, with the help of her sardonic talking black cat Jiji. Venturing to a far-off city, she finds lodgings and builds her own business, a delivery service where she can deliver anything by broomstick. However, when Kiki falls ill, she loses her powers and must deal with the consequences in order to get back on her feet (and broom).
