Updating the story's classic setting to a more contemporary world at war, this new co-production with New York's Metropolitan Opera marks the UK opera debut of the Tony Award-winning director Des McAnuff.

Updating the story's classic setting to a more contemporary world at war, this new co-production with New York's Metropolitan Opera marks the UK opera debut of the Tony Award-winning director Des McAnuff. A stunning cast is led by Toby Spence (2008's wide-eyed Candide) and Melody Moore (2009's heart-stopping Mim? in La boh?me) as Faust and Marguerite, with Iain Paterson as the devilish Mephistopheles and Benedict Nelson (The Daily Telegraph's 'Best Newcomer' of 2009) as Gretchen's soldier brother Valentin. ENO's Olivier Award-winning Music Director, Edward Gardner conducts.
