Marnie at London Coliseum

Why see Marnie?

WORLD PREMIERE

Marnie is the story of a young woman who makes her way through life defrauding employers before moving on with a new identity to start the charade again. This world premiere production from Nico Muhly (Two Boys) draws on the classic novel by Winston Graham and Alfred Hitchcock's tense screenplay to create a new portrait of the troubled Marnie.

Grammy winner Sasha Cooke takes on the titular role in a production directed by Michael Mayer and featuring Leslie Garrett. Expect a psychologically intense story that examines all facets of freedom, set to a powerful and searing score.

WHO IS MARNIE?

Fleeing a traumatic past, Marnie makes a career of embezzling and thievery until she is caught by her current boss Mark Rutland. In exchange for his silence, he forces her to into marriage. Trapped by her circumstances, she finally faces the skeletons in her cupboard, who turn out to be metaphorical and literal.
