We are bringing death metal into the halls of high culture
Mikael Akerfeld, Royal Albert Hall, 2010
Quite possibly the heaviest rock band to raise the roof at the Royal Albert Hall are returning to London for a one-off gig at another unlikely venue - the London Palladium, no less! The progressive Swedish rock band are celebrating a phenomenal 25 years in the music business, and will be treating their hardcore fans to their well-received 2005 album Ghost Reveries in its entirety, which in itself is celebrating 10 years since its release. Come on down to the Palladium for the heaviest metal night out that this landmark theatre has ever seen, for one night only this October!
These eclectic group of death metallers have gone through several lineup changes since its inception way back in 1990, and cite Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest as their main influences. Together the band have stacked up an impressive array of releases, which include 11 studio albums, three live DVDs and three live albums. Their much-lauded concert at the Royal Albert Hall was filmed for a special two-part DVD boxset, with the first set comprising their entire Blackwater Park album and the second set featuring one song from every other album (excluding Blackwater Park), in chronological order to represent 20 years of their musical evolution.
Performance date: 18 October 2015
