The Palladium Pantomime is back this Christmas!

It's never too early to think about Christmas, as the folks at the London Palladium are clearly thinking! Because they have already announced their 2017/18 Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington, following the resounding success that their Cinderella enjoyed last year! Staged by the world's biggest pantomime producer, Qdos Entertainment, an all-star cast will tread the boards, led by Half a Sixpence's Charlie Stemp in the title role and the one and only Elaine Paige as Queen Rat! Julian Clary also returns, alongside, Gary Wilmot, Emma Williams, Nigel Havers and Paul Zerdin. Don't miss this what is sure to be a marvellously funny and electrifying retelling of the boy who looked for streets of gold in London his cat, naturally.

A story of courage and perseverance

An old English folklore tale from the middle ages, we follow the story of Dick Whittington, a young man who was orphaned at an early age. Living in a quiet village, he was determined to head to a place called London, as he heard people describe it as being "paved with gold". Determined to mine as much gold as possible from these streets, he heads off to the city with his beloved cat- only to find that reality is very different.

Taken in by a kindly merchant, he sells his cat to help the man control the mice on his trading ship; Dick is bullied relentlessly by the household's cook, and he is plagued by mice. But when the merchant returns, he has news for Dick that turns his life around completely - and a very special friend who is glad to see him.
