Jane Horrocks stars alongside playwright/actor Ayub Khan Din in this stage adaptation of his 1999 hit film. In 1970s Salford, a family of British-Pakistani descent face trials and tribulations with their teenaged sons. As their devout father pushes them towards the Muslim faith, the boys have other ideas, and are more interested in chasing the local girls and going out to parties! Horrocks plays their long-suffering mother, caught between the loyalties to her husband, and wanting a free future for their children.

Sikes & Nancy at the Trafalgar Studios 1, London

From 9 Dec 2014

Brutal and almost devoid of redemption, Bill Sikes is Dickens' cruelest and most violent villian, whose gruesome murder of Nancy, his devoted lover in Oliver Twist, is one of the author's darkest moments. When presented to audiences at readings, ladies were said to faint at the morbid details and screams would fill the auditorium. Inspired by these sordid tales, James Swanton has adapted and performs this compelling one man show, exploring the mind of the infamous Sikes and where his actions will ultimately lead him...

Miss Havisham's Expectations at the Trafalgar Studios 1, London

From 10 Dec 2014

Deep within the gloom of the decaying Satis House, Dicken's wraith like Miss Havisham sits in stasis, with clocks stopped at 8:40 am, the moment she found out she had been jilted on her wedding day by a nefarious con-man. Rather than moving on, she inhabits the betrayal fully, leaving the decorations and regalia to rot, as she herself stays in her ragged bridal dress, with one shoe off, for she had not fully finished getting dressed at the moment her heart was broken...

The Ruling Class at the Trafalgar Studios 1, London

From 14 Jan 2015

BAFTA-winning actor James McAvoy stars in this brand-new Jamie Lloyd production as part of the hugely successful Trafalgar Transformed season. When a paranoid schizophrenic man with a Messiah complex inherits his father's earldom, he finds himself woefully unsuited to a life of privilege and politics. To make matters worse, he is surrounded by ruthless and scheming relatives who will literally do anything to uphold the reputation of the family, even at his expense.
