Margaret Thatcher Queen of Gameshows

Until July 2, 2017

Clutch those handbags and pearls, girls and boys, because Maggie's back with a brand new career! Join the brains behind the award-winning fringe show, Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho for this hilariously silly new game show for the austerity generation. Compete with other audience members for your chance to win a fabulous golden giro check. Expect song, dance, catchphrases in this gloriously camp send-up of the Iron Lady.

Sh*t-Faced Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet

Until July 12, 2017

As two of our most revered institutions, it seems a no-brainer to bring together the world of alcohol and Shakespeare for our entertainment. Thankfully Magnificent Bastard Productions are more than happy to deliver and bring their utterly hilarious, always rambunctious take on the bard's oeuvre to London once more, this time tackling the teenage angst and warring families of Romeo and Juliet.

Swing Out

Until September 11, 2017

Calling all jitter bugs! Summer is here, and with it the urge to dance from sweet sunrise to simmering sunset, so shimmy and shake on down to Swing Out, a vintage dance experience that'll have all Underbelly Festival goers on their feet in a jiffy! Don't miss this chance to dress up and lindy hop your way back to the golden era of swing.

Trevor Ashley in Liza's Back! (is broken)

June 27-July 2, 2017

Liza Minelli has achieved a type of mythological status that plays tricks with facts and memory. The showbiz queen's reign has been so ubiquitous that it may come as a shock to fans that she did not, in fact, play Norma Desmond nor Grizabella. Now Australian drag queen extraordinaire Trevor Ashley will set this to rights with the ultimate tribute at the 2017 Underbelly Festival, performing Broadway classics in the guise of the icon.

Ashes to Ashes: A Cabaret Tribute to David Bowie

September 2, 2017

The toast of London's cabaret scene gather together to once again celebrate the genius of the dearly departed David Bowie in a show that will joyously channel everyone's favourite Space Oddity through song, dance, burlesque and performance. From folk star to leper messiah, Thin White Duke to soul man, his legendary career crystallised what it is to be weird and wonderful, a kook or a freak. So don your best stripes, grab the glitter and come and blow the roof of the Underbelly Spiegeltent in tribute to the icon.
