Great night out: for good old fashioned entertainment
Morning after effect: investing in a bow tie and fidora
Recommend to friends: most certainly!
Best bit: Mr. Bojangles of course

Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin: the perfect trio for a entertaining evening. The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas delightfully captures the character and charisma of the extremely talented trio.

After watching my fair share of jukebox musicals it was fantastic to enjoy a musical revue without a heavy storyline (or storyline at all really!). The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas simply, without any inane links between songs (hooray!), recreates the music and atmosphere of a typical night at the Sands Hotel, Las Vegas.

Although I was sitting a little too close to the stage to believe that Louis Hoover, Giles Terera and Mark Adams were the real McCoy they did a pretty good job of impersonating the Kings of Cool: Frank, Sammy and Dean. Accompanied by the glitzy Burelli Sisters and their on-stage liquor cart the trio perform their rather chaotic, highly entertaining set.

Gils Terera as Sammy Davis Jr. definitely stole the show; his has endless energy, cheeky dance moves and to top it off an outstanding voice. The clan do plenty of clowning around, cheeky ad-libs and smooth dance moves in between a line up of fantastic tunes. Charlie Bull, Grace Holdstock and Lizzii Hills as The Burelli Sisters prance around in sync in red satin and heels to deliciously tacky dance routines.

The 15 piece on-stage orchestra accurately recreate the good time sounds of favourites from the 1950's and 1960's such as The Lady Is a Tramp, Mr Bojangles, Ive Got You Under My Skin, Thats Amore and Fly Me to the Moon.

If you are after a relaxing evening listening to the smooth sounds of the great American songbook then don't miss The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas.

From the 24th November 2009 until 2nd January 2010 this show becomes "The Rat Pack At Christmas" with extra seasonal songs to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Audience
Children must be 5 years of age or older.

Theatre
The Adelphi is well located next to Covent Garden so you have plenty of choices of pre and post show eating & drinking. The theatre itself is well organised, I would probably try to avoid sitting too far back in The Dress Circle and Grand Circle as the rake is rather shallow. There are four bars, and ice cream and confectionery are available in the interval.
