Elegy for Young Lovers

by WH Auden and Chester Kallman
Why see Elegy for Young Lovers?
An ENO/Young Vic co-production
Composed by Hans Werner Henze
Following Fiona Shaw's acclaimed 2008 ENO debut, she now directs another 20th Century masterpiece.
Co-written by WH Auden and Chester Kallman, and set by composer Hans Werner Henze, Elegy for Young Lovers offers a savagely witty expos of the creative ego and its insatiable need to feed off all around it.
This is the third season of the South Bank Show Award-winning partnership between ENO and the Young Vic following sell-out stagings of Lost Highway and Punch & Judy in 08 and Katie Mitchell's After Dido in 09.
