Theatre Royal Drury Lane To Be Renamed The Lane

The venue will play host to Disney's Frozen Musical from October 2020

The iconic West End venue, Theatre Royal Drury Lane is being re-named The Lane when it reopens in 2020. The re-branding comes as the theatre undergoes extensive redevelopment before it reopens with Disney's Broadway hit, Frozen, in October.

As well as a new name, the theatre will enjoy an update to its current seating layout, with seats being given more legroom and better sightlines. The theatre will also gain a whole host of brand new toilets and a 16-person lift which will go to every level of the venue, alongside access improvements which include a new street-level entrance.

Theatre Royal Drury Lane (or The Lane) will also be able to adjust its performance space, allowing productions to choose between the traditional proscenium arch or in-the-round configurations for their performances.

Previews for the West End premiere of Frozen are set to begin in October, with tickets starting to go on sale at the end of January, tickets will officially go on sale to the general public on the 6th of March. Official dates or a cast for the production have not yet been announced.
