A Festive Family Treat

The London Musical Theatre Orchestra and Griff Rhys Jones celebrate the season with this gleeful Christmas jaunt that's bursting with joy, tenderness and comedy.

Led by founder, the inimitable Freddie Tapner on the baton, the company lay on a marvellously merry gift, that thanks to the talents of Rhys Jones and the supporting cast of West End stars of today and tomorrow, leave you truly full of the festive spirit.

With music by Alan Menken, lyrics from Lynn Ahrens and a book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens this is a delightful concert adaptation that blends jokes, drama, pathos and catchy tunes surprisingly well. This version hews close to Dickens' original seeing Rhys Jones's Scrooge (channeling Rex Harrison) through his ghostly pilgrimage with plenty of showbiz magic, with fabulous work from Lucie Jones, Cedric Neal, Miriam-Teak Lee, Jeremy Secomb, who lend the proceedings some musical megawattage to warm the whole auditorium.

Wholly family friendly and yet wonderfully capturing Dickens's message, the only thing that's left to say is - you'd be a humbug to miss this third annual outing from one of the capital's finest orchestras!
