Absolutely Fantastic

Bill Bailey is a genius - both musically and comically. We took our 11 year old daughter who had seen the dvd of Bill's guide to the Orchestra and she loved it. Some of the humour went over her head but not much. And what a great venue - recently watched Tinselworm and, though I would have loved to have been there, realised that this gig was much more intimate and therefore much more fun. Would recommend this to anyone. Thanks Bill for a great night - you rock!!

Turned out very good

My brother Andy thought that being taken to this show was perhaps the best birthday present that he had had. This was Bill Bailey at his usual high standard of performance. He gave us about 100 minutes of jokes and music (he sings and plays a few different instruments). The technical aspects of the show seemed to go off without a hitch. There was an intermission for us to catch our breath. Bill was tired of being compared to 'Wagner' on 'X Factor' (ITV) and was surprised by an audience comment about a drug-filled Kinder Egg.

I was lucky to be taken to see the show for my birthday and what a treat it was! The show is skilfully orchestrated and perfectly paced, with hilarious jokes, off-the-cuff topical banter and musical interludes, accompanied by cleverly constructed graphics and effects. Touching on subjects such as drugs and religion will always cause a few sharp intakes of breath amongst a few of the audience, but I certainly didn’t feel offended at any point. Bill's witty, quick-fire retorts to the audience's friendly (and encouraged) heckles, together with the cosy environment of the Wyndham Theatre gave the show a connected, personal feel. I suspect the show works much better in this smaller environment than a large arena. If you haven't previously seen a show at the Wyndham, be warned you should pick your seats carefully as the view, ergo the experience, from some parts of the theatre (e.g. back rows of the stalls and the balcony) is compromised. All in all, a great night out and highly recommended!

2 hours of sheer entertainment - A good night out

Whilst in London recently on a course I decided to kill one of the evenings by going to see Bill Bailey and what a good choice that was, I was in stiches of laughter with tears rolling down my face for all of the first half. After the intermission I continued to be thoroughly entertained. Kraftwerk, vintage car horns, plus other musical instruments all used to very good effect, add those to Bill's sometimes fractured dialogue with the audience and his clever wit and you have 2 hours of your day just filled with laughter and smiles. An modern day Sir Peter Ustinov and not one swear word from what I recall. The closing video is a gem.

Masterful comedy

Saw Bill last night - a comedy masterclass which gave us aching sides and faces from continual laughing. Songs, musings, bicycle horns and end of show video summary left us literally helpless with laughter. But he does lose a star for his too predictable mocking of 'religion' which was directed totally against Christianity - like all such observers, he did not dare to mock Islam the same way. Otherwise he is a national treasure and the show is true comedic genius.
