Time Out
Why see Alex?
The return of the Telegraph cartoon to the West End, starring Robert Bathurst
Following last year's smash-hit season at the Arts, everyone's favourite obnoxious investment banker is back by popular demand!
Celebrated stage and screen actor Robert Bathurst (Cold Feet, Whipping it Up) reprises his critically acclaimed role, bringing Alex to three-dimensional life
Award-winning director Phelim McDermott (Shockheaded Peter, Improbable Theatre) comes together with a top-class design team to bring to life ingenious animations from the pen of Charles Peattie in what the critics agree is a hilarious night out for theatregoers and a must-see for fans of the cartoon. All the regular characters from the cartoon strip are here: his timid and inept sidekick Clive, long-suffering wife Penny, abrasive boss Rupert, stroppy client Mr Hardcastle, as well as graduate trainees, lap dancers, bibulous journalists, freeloading industrialists and all the other fringe characters of City life.
