SWEENEY TODD ADELPHI

Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton; a long with everyone else are brilliant. The story begins slowly and builds into a superb climax. Imelda Stauntons performance is extraordinary, her comic timing is perfection. Michael Ball plays the Barber and is utterly convincing, and the voice never falters or ceases to amaze. Highly recommend. Try Pasta Browns ( just around the corner ) in Covent Garden. May go again and try better seats, upper circle rather high!. Brilliant show.

SWEENEY TODD

The performances from the cast were brilliant! Imelda Staunton was hilarious as Mrs Lovitt and Michael Ball still hits every note playing the Fleet Street barber with menace! A great cast, loads of energy! Rear stalls do have slightly obstructed view of upper stage but not enough to spoil the show. 100% standing ovation!

SWEENEY TODD

Stephen sondheims music has been brought to life yet again by a wonderful performance by micheal ball with the equally talented imelda staunton and company. The running time of about 3 hours including interval (15 mins)passes very quickly as i watched the performance mesmerised.Do not let the subject put you off as there is a lot of laughs along the way through well "executed" performances by cast and crew.I`m so glad this play has been moved from chichester to the west end so i and others can enjoy .well done !!!.

A GREAT NIGHT OUT

Personally i believe this production is better than the film, the music is brilliant, the singing is astonishing and the acting is mesmerizing. I advise EVERYONE to watch this, if you thought the film was impressive or not im sure you will find this impressive. Michael Ball plays (in my opinion) his best ever role, he is extremely good at Sweeney Todd and his singing is absolutley fantastic, he shows to the audience all the emotion associated with sweeney todd. Imelda Staunton similarly is excellent and plays Mrs Lovett the best i have seen anyone play a character in the west end, her singing, acting, timing and stage presence is definatly the best and worth seeing solely for that reason as well as the show which is amazing. Other characters also play their roles well and complement the two 'mains' very well. * * * * * Henry

THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET

I have seen many shows in my time, but this was by far the most memorable, most moving and most beautifully ambient show yet. Michael Ball was a wonderful Sweeney, amazing vocals, exquisite acting skills & the ambience was perfect! I even sympathised with Sweeney on several occasions! I saw this two days ago & i'm already planning my second visit! I have post show depression I am genuinely in awe! Currently listening to the soundtrack!
