A MUST SEE!
We saw Matilda on October 25. It should have been a week or more into the season- in fact the RSC had had to cancel all earlier shows due to problems with the technical kit on the stage. We were so lucky- another day of gremins we'd have missed a highlight of our year! The musical has everything- terrific acting, great sets, and a special mention for Tim Minchin's lyrics- if a cleverer, more catchy soundtrack has been written recently I don't know where it is. And we have to highlight Bertie Carvel as Miss Trunchbull- he is outstanding! If I owned a hat I'd eat it if this musical is not a world wide hit over the next 5 years.

PURE BRILLIANCE!!!
This production is a must-see!!! It's witty, creative, hilarious and moving. Tim Minchin deserves so much credit for his lyrics and music - totally capturing the spirit of Roald Dahl. A special mention for Bert Carvil as Miss Trunchbull - the best comic perfomance in a musical I've ever seen. Just wait for the "phys ed" lesson!!!

FANTASTIC
We saw Matilda in Stratford and were desperate to see it again so very pleased to get to see it in London. The energy of the cast was amazing from start to end, the music and lyrics brilliant and you MUST go and see it. Would be very surprised if it doesn't have a very long run, hope so, so we can get to see it again. If you only get to see one show this year make it MATILDA!!
Mildred from Birmingham
MATILDA WOW
Saw it in Stratford, then London Preview, then the polished finished London debut. It gets better and better.Funny, moving, thought-provoking. Fine adult cast, amazing children, superb orchestra, perfectly balanced sound, ingenious stage-set. Can't wait to see it in a year's time.

AMAZING
I saw this today with my school at the Cambridge theater in London, it was amazing! So much going on, full of laughter and all round a great show! The actress who played Matilda (Kerry Ingram) was great and so talented for her age, Miss Trunchbull was so funny as well! Well worth going to watch, you'll love it!

FANTASTIC SHOW - STAR OF THE FUTURE
i was fortunate enough to attend the show on saturday 28th january, and i was impressed with everything about the show; the set was fantastic and very inventive as were the cast, and the young girl who played matilda will undoubtedly go on and become a huge star, she had such a charisma and stage presence. I wasn’t overly impressed with the theatre seating, we were sat in the upper circle and our seats moved if people sat forward on their seat, and I’m not too sure how fast an evacuation of the building could take place, in the event of an emergency. However I would recommend that if you are in London and want to watch a show that has a fantastic inventive set, humour, and a ‘10 out of 10 feel good factor bout it then this is the show for you

MAGICAL MATILDA!!
Beautiful, mesmerising and very creative. Absolutely loved it. The actress who plays Matilda when I saw the show (Hayley Canham) was superb-didn't deliver a line wrongly. All the cast were fantastic and I was engrossed in the story from the beginning. 10/10

MATILDA
Matilda came highly recommended by friends but the prospect of singing and dancing kids did fill me with slight fear. But what a show! It has converted this cynic. A truly fantastic evening.

FABULOUS!
My husband bought tickets to see 'Matilda' for my birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We wanted to see it because we both love Tim Minchen who wrote both the lyrics and music and I still thoroughly enjoy Roald Dahl books. The musical draws you into a magical world it is very engaging and full of delight and suprises. We all have a child in us but this clever musical appeals to all ages. It is definately the show of the moment. We ate at the nearby 'Ivy' restaurant but there are many lovely restaurants nearby all selling delicious food!

Gareth Herring from London,
DAHL WOULD BE PROUD OF THIS
This is one show about which the adjective 'unmissable' is truly deserved. Every single cast member's performance was flawless, but particular mention has to go to those who played Trunchball (mesmerising!), Matilda (incredible!), Mr Wormwood (despicable!), and Rudolpho (incomparible!) We took a group of 40 teenagers from Cornwall up to London to watch this, and it was worth every mile on that coach. The staging was so well-judged, imaginative and slick that it brought real magic back to the theatre. I'll be going again.
Andrew Watson from London,
PERFECT
We went as a family to see the performance on New Years Day, my birthday. We thought it was perfect. Matilda was dazzling, quite remarkable that a 10 year old could capture the whole audience and hold it in the palm of her hands. Memorable songs, great crackling tension, a super-baddie and an all round attack on every sense. I didn't want it to end. We want to go again, very soon.

INCREDIBLE
Truly phenomenal, would recommend this show to anybody!
Holly from London,
MAGICAL
It was absolutely magical, we had Georgia Pemberton as Matilda, and she handled the role with the grace and brilliance of any adult performer. Every single member of the cast performed at their best and it was absolutely incredible, it left me in tears of absolute elation and I would recommend this to EVERYONE
Richard from London
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
Categorically the best musical I've seen this year.

FANTASTIC
Absolutely amazing performance from everyone this evening! Really blown away by everyone's incredible dedication to this amazing musical! This is the 8th time I've seen this show and I will be back again. You are all amazing and should be so proud of the work you achieve! Congratulations to everyone
Lisa from London,
WORTH SEEING!!
This show was made by the fact Bertie Carvel played a superb Miss Trunchbull. I'd see it again just to watch him play her!!!!! At times we wondered what some of the kids were singing about but the story was definitely easy to follow.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL
I really enjoyed this show. The performers were fantastic, especially the lead actress. The songs were catchy and very entertaining. Cambridge Theatre is a lovely venue, but I would recommend getting seats as close to the front as your budget allows. We were relatively far back and some of the dialogue was quite difficult to hear. I think the people at the back would have seriously struggled to hear everything, even though those seats were selling for £25- £30. Overall though, it was a great night out.

MATILDA
I was bored witless watching this show. Roald Dahl it was not The songs were tuneless and bland. I do not understand what all the hype is about As a devotee of Roald Dahl books I thought this show was 2nd rate. Miss trunchball was miscast as a man and not a woman and the girl who played Matilda on the night we saw the show was inarticulate.

WHERE IS MATILDA?
I just saw this production and I have to say I thought it was awful. Where was Matilda? The girl playing Matilda had the figure of a teenager, she was very curvaceous and couldn’t act or sing in tune. It was so weird!!! My children were very disappointed. I was expecting the show to be amazing after reading the reviews. Very bad casting for Matilda and it ruined the whole show.
Mandy from London, England
TERRIBLE RIP OFF
Boring boring boring absolute waste of money paid £75 per ticket x 7 =£525 for my granddaughters birthday. Had 2 people watching over us the whole show slightest noise telling us to be quite baring in mind we had 4 years old with us seats were loud and squeaky. My 6yr old granddaughter said fake as soon as the show started, as characters looked nothing like in the movie. Paid £63 for 4 glasses of Prosecco and 1 ice lolly and ready salted crisps. Everything was over priced. I get it was central london actaully ridiculous prices. The only staff member that was friendly was the man on the door welcoming us.
Cael from London, England
SO BORING
It was putting me to sleep. Left after intermission. Kids were good but anything involving adult characters was horrible. Songs are garbage. How this trash gets good reviews is beyond me. Was a waste of money

Colourful clever UNMISSABLE
Loud, colourful, and full of ridiculous expressions and playground jokes, from its set through to the dancing!
I'm afraid it's true, the kids are revolting - but don't be too alarmed, we mean 100% revolution and 0% revulsion. The school-aged portion of Matilda's cast are causing a revolution in musical theatre, singing and dancing their way to West End stardom...
