Why See Dame Diana Rigg: No Turn Unstoned?
Game of Thrones and The Avengers star Dame Diana Rigg takes a comical look at some of the worst reviews in theatre over the ages, as well as sharing some of her most humourous anecdotes from the stage.
WHAT IS THE SHOW ABOUT?A tribute to those actors who survive a critical panning, Dame Diana was inspired to collect such horror stories into a compendium, following that infamous "flying buttresses" comment from critic John Simon, about a nude scene she performed in 1971's Abelard and Heloise. Still, her performance only seemed to shore up future success as she has since won Tony & Emmy Awards for her acting endeavours. Decades later she uses her experiences, and the wealth of reviews that she collected throughout the years to write this hit one-woman show that has seen rave reviews at the Edinburgh fringe.
