WONDERFUL THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE

Both my party and everyone around us thoroughly enjoyed this production. The cast worked so well together to make it believable and balanced. I particularly liked the way Rupert Everest made his Higgins just that tiny bit vulnerable and likeable, a very sensitive performance.

STAR STUDDED BY STILL MISSING A STAR

Rupert Everett in the role of Professor Henry Higgins was (to my suprise) upstaged by the superbly cast Kara Tointen (as Eliza), supported by a strong performance from Peter Eyre (as Col. Pickering). Diana Rigg added something really special to the mix in her role as Mrs Higgins. The production was good, however, I left feeling a little cheated; something was missing to make it great. I think perhaps something about understanding/ believing Higgins' feelings for Eliza was were my minor disappointment lay. Definitely worth a viewing.

PYGMALION

I very much wanted to see this play and I was pleased I managed to see it yesterday. I thought Michael Feast excellent and also Roberta Taylor (I could hear every word, she was so clear). Overall I think the cast did not gel so the performance lost that little bit extra. You know the feeling that you are almost on stage with them. I particularly appreciated the costumes chosen for this production. The fit, detailing, colour and accessories really bought the characters to life for me. I have loved the plays I have seen at The Garrick in the past but was a little disappointed with this production.
