FANTASTIC
Absolutely brilliant performance by Beverley Knight & all the cast. The singing was just wonderful, didn’t want it to end. Understandably due to COVID restrictions there was no encore ….highly recommend, a fantastic treat.
Scott from South Shields
UPLIFTING NIGHT OF ENTERTAINMENT
Went to see this at Newcastle Theatre Royal. Great evening and the performance had the audience on their feet and dancing in the aisles. Cracking songs, fascinating story and lots of humour. All the cast were spot on. We all left elated.
Ian from London, England
SENSATIONAL
The Drifters are well known but their story isn’t. There would be no Drifters without the dedication of their manager Faye Treadwell. The male singers play many parts in this toe tapping gem of a show but the star is Miss Beverley Knight. When she sings “Harlem Child”, it’s pure electricity.
Jim Healy from Stock , Essex
SUPERB CAST AND A FANTASTIC SHOW
The story of the Drifters and their female manager is told here using the iconic soundtrack of their many fab hits. The four actors have so much charisma and work their socks off playing multiple parts as well as singing and dancing throughout the show. Beverley Knight plays her part well, although a bit too heavy with the American accent making her difficult to understand, but as always her singing is superb. All the hits are included and it’s a very slick and entertaining production (although a longer encore wouldn’t go amiss). The cast are outstanding and you cannot fail to enjoy the music. Highly recommended.

FAB!
Great show! The singing was exceptional! Beverley Knight on form. Lovely small theatre which drew you into the story. The cast is limited but it didn’t matter! Just go and enjoy!

FABULOUS SHOW - BEVERLY KNIGHT AND CAST ARE OUTSTANDING
Felt very lucky to have visited the show on opening weekend in London. The performance from all the cast was absolutely first class and Beverly Knight's vocals were incredible. Also Adam J Bernard as George Treadwell was particularly strong. We were in tears over and over again with the emotional performances, especially as we got sucked into the story. But this is feel good show first and foremost, and a must for Drifters fans. I took my parents as a pre-christmas gift and we were all singing along. We have seen the Drifters themselves, back in the day with the Johnny Moore line up - these guys here should feel proud, they really do the vocals justice. My one negative for the show - the audience - signs everywhere saying keep your face masks on, hardly any one did. Nimax Theatre should enforce this for people's safety (especially with a lot of OAPs in audience). But all in all FABULOUS and my parents are already booked to go back!!!
Katts King from London, England
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
Simply the best show I’ve seen in a long time! Beverley & the boys were just phenomenal! Some very clever set useage & the cast work incredibly hard with multiple, but brilliant characters. If you love The Drifters, you’ll love this! We enjoyed it so much we’ve just booked again!!!!
Ann Guiry from Bedford England
FANTASTIC

Helene from London, England
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME
What an incredible show. All the singers were superb. We were dancing in our seats. Beverley Knight brought the house down with her vocals. Enjoyed every moment. The songs are still playing in my head. ‘There goes my first love..’ loved it so much looking to buy tickets again.
Helen Landau from Cheltenham, Gloucester, England
VOICES LIKE SILK
White men can't sing like this. Eat your heart out Adele - Beverly is up there with Ella.
Dr. Tony from London, England
ASTONISHING PERFORMANCES
Great Great show with the most amazing performances. The dancing singing and staging are amazing too.
Tony Gray from Portsmouth area, England
WOW!
Brilliant performances from all the cast in what is set to be the best live long running music show since Jersey Boys. While delivered by only a cast of 6 (Drifters actors performing multiple roles), no expense is spared on a fabulous band and great lighting! Also Miss Beverly Knight is a tour de force in her role as Faye Treadwell, the Drifters manager. This show is a must for Drifters fans as well as those of R&B and Soul. Book it!
Les Evans from Shropshire
REAL DRIFTERS NOTE THIS
I went to see the Current Drifters in Shrewsbury lzst week they were hopeless. Tonight i saw a real representation of the original Drifters and boy was I impressed they sounded fantastic well done to the whole cast.

Absolutely outstanding. Beverley Knight is an amazing British talent. The whole cast without exception had incredible vocals. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve booked to see it again. A must see show for any Drifters fan! Great theatre too. with plenty of legroom.

TERRIFIC SHOW
I absolutely loved it! There is great singing and a superb performance by Beverley Knight. I had no idea The Drifters had such a complicated history. The versatility of the men, playing so many different roles, from the tragic to the hilarious just goes to show what talented actors and singers they are. I want to go again!
Andrea simmons from London, England

I went to the opening night of this must see, fantastic show !!! Ignore any negativity from any so called critics, it really is a treat. What a stellar cast, so slick. Don't miss this before it transfers to Broadway, as it surely will.

FIRST CLASS PERFORMANCES AND A SPARKLING SHOW
From the very first moment this production scored for us - I know it is a ‘’jukebox musical” but the staging and production were really engaging and the performances were simply stunning. Such class and versatility from the cast and what wonderful singing and dancing - we had a great time
Andy Rudgewick from Chelmsford Essex
DIDN'T WANT THE SHOW TO END
Absolutely fantastic performance from Beverly Knight, let's face it she is flawless. Those boys, all four of them fantastic voices, versatile performers and also very funny when needed. Was only disappointed that the show had to end.
Sarah Fisher from London, England
FABULOUS
Small intimate theatre which makes for a more personal experience. Beverly Knight knocks out some incredible numbers and all of the Drifters offer some superb classics. We loved it
Carol from Barnsley, England

Roughy from the start the show was full of exceptional voices and the cast full of personality. They had the ability to successful pray sadness, comedy and real personality including cheeky expressions from the 4 male stars…. Superb and possibly one of the best shows I have seen
Greg Clarke from London, England
IGNORE NEWSPAPER REVIEWS !!
Absolutely terrific show with real passion from the performers. It’s not a Shakespeare performance - it’s not supposed to be! It’s a good feel, high vibe, incredible story with the even more incredible Beverly Knight (everything a hot talented soul legend should be). Go see it and have fun !!
Nigel and Eva Edgar from Huddersfield West Yorkshire
OUTSTANDING SHOW

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
Just an absolute joy to watch. There are only six of them, but they are all just brilliant. If you love The Drifters music, go and see it!
James from London, England
MUST SEE SHOW
The show starts with a real punch and it sets the tone for the rest of the show. Your feet start tapping and your body moves to the fantastic songs. The guys were amazing, superb voices and great acting. Not for one minute would you think they were not American. We had middle row seats in the Grand Circle and I thought the view might be poor but no as the theatre was fairly small the view was good. The ending with the live band finally having their moment was the perfect end to the show. You must go and see this show, you will leave feeling happy, there is no doubt. To the actors/singers/band, I salute you 👍
Debbie Cattell from London, England
OUTSTANDING SHOW AND VOCALS
Went to see Drifters Girl last night and we were blown away, what a fantastic show and the vocals amazing. Beverley Knight is so humble and gives it 150% everytime we see her in something and the men who played the Drifters were all singing stars, their voices were top class. The whole set and story was portrayed so professionally and we did not want it to end. I would have liked to have danced at the end with a medley but sadly this did not happen. I would definitely go and see this again as so loved going back in time with the Drifters story.
Liz Wembridge from Bristol England.
DRIFTERS GIRL.
Outstanding show. Beverley Knight was superb as Faye Treadwell and the men who played The Drifters had the most amazing voices and dance moves. Would go again in a heartbeat. A wonderful journey back in time
Kathy from Reading
FABULOUS
So good tonight. Our second trip, so great we can now have an encore, see the band and join in . What a show this is for Drifters fans, such a talented cast and great humour. Well done all, we loved it.
James Truslove from Bristol, England
THE DRIFFTERS GIRL
Maybe I am just a musical romantic who believes in the theatrical here and now with respect to great original musical stories. The Drifters Girl has everything a good night out in theatreland has to offer. This show can travel and just like its story it will take you on a journey of emotion and joy with questions that conquer barriers of fear. Beverley Knight, WOW! just wow. Actor, entertainer and voice! The Voice. We were sitting four rows from the stage and I swear I could hear her heart beating as she gracefully and effortlessly hit every word of every song with pure emotion and conviction just amazing to witness. The cast professional in every sense, moving from character to costume change seamlessly. Although it would be unfair to choose a individual star performance I have to say Tosh Wanogho-Maud stole my attention. His voice is stunning, his role play is amazing and his power to capture the audience is spell-bounding. This complex story gets across with skill. Must watch!
Mrs Jan Lyons from London, England
BEST EVER SHOW - THEY ARE BRILLIANT
Beverley Knight & Tosh Wanogho-Maud Stole the show it made us laugh it made us cry and the singing was out of the world You must take some time to go and see it Thank you very much for a brilliant / fantastic afternoon
Kim Feeney from London, England
FANTASTIC!
Being a Drifter's fan, I was not going to miss this. The cast are brilliant, fantastic voices and great fun being cast as different characters. Beverly Knight was her usual brilliance, to say the least. We went to the matinee performance so thought it would be a bit emptier...no chance, packed to the brim and a had a fantastic afternoon.
Ray Field from Chichester, England
BRILLANT SINGING & DRIFTERS MUSIC - DON'T MISS IT !!
What a night, Packed with great hits Beverely Knight and the boys - Adam Bernard, Tarinn Callender, Matt Henry and Tosh Wanogho-Maud gave a fantastic performance of songs and Drifters coordinated dancing, acting, with humour, wit and overall the production in this small theatre made it feel like an intimate gig. The band produced a full sound of brillant music. The staging was simple, ingenious and helped tell the story. If you want a good night out of music, talented singers go !
Jeff Cooper from London, England
STUNNING

One of the best shows around for sure. Seen it 4 times first was with all the understudies was was fantastic then twice with Beverly in total awesome and the 4th with the fabulous Felicia Boswell absolutely stunning. Simple set yes ✔️ doesn’t matter, Just only 5 cast members so much talent to switch parts ✔️ Singing out of the world wether it’s the understudies, main cast, Beverly, or Felicia ✔️✔️ Story good ✔️ Overall experience ✔️✔️✔️✔️ Must see show

GREAT AND WILL GET BETTER STILL
Went yesterday, second day of opening at the Garrick, London. I loved it, the story, music and acting were all good. A couple of things to work on, but, early days and sure to improve. Would recommend.
Elpe from London, England
TOP ENTERTAINMENT
Very entertaining show, great singers with terrific voices. Set was rather disappointing, expected more: very little money spent on it obviously. Excellent seats, great view from mid stalls, even on the extreme edge. Audience knew most of the songs, gave a standing ovation at the end of a matinee performance. And to think they have to do it all again the same night for the evening performance!
M Cann from London, England
GREAT SHOW SO SAD THAT THEY DID NOT DO ENCORE
To say no encore due to covid very poor If they can do the Show how then they can do encore Public needs to be shown respect for turning out during this Uncertain times The whole audience around me we’re all extremely disappointed . We travel up from Berkshire using public transport if We had worried about Covid they would not have an Audience
Sjm from Essex, England
FAB PERFORMANCES, NOT SO FAB STORYTELLING
So, first things first, we loved the show. For me, the storytelling was confusing however. There is an ensemble, of 6 actors I total. They were all fab, but they had to tell the whole story themselves, and I felt another 2 or 3 actors would of told a more comprehensible story. The would be one person the story, with a white hat on, then they're back next sentence, with no hat being someone else. It's almost like walking into a beautiful penthouse ( the music) with a bang and olufson stereo on the floor, a smeg toaster and a beautiful rose , but nothing else in the flat. It's all fantastic quality, but there's no table for the stereo, or vase for the Rose. All in all however, a must see, the singing is on point, the sound, crystal clear, the story, surprisingly interesting and a fab experience.
Beverley Hesketh-Grimsdale from London, England
A GREAT NIGHT OF EXCELLENCE FOR DRIFTERS MUSIC
If you want to be wowed by spectacular Music, Singing and Dance from an era that holds so much charm and nostalgia as the 50s and 60s then this Musical Production is for you. You are transported back to a time when you could be aware of tawdry surroundings but where the Music and Dance are so sublime that it only adds to its charm. Add a band playing as good as any from a classical orchestra of great merit. And you have a really good night out. I would love to just go to a gig where the vocalists and band where playing and would enjoy emensly. I have to admit that the storyline and acting is weak in comparison but when you consider how brilliant the musicality is most storytelling would be irrelevant or not valued. A shame indeed as the music deserves some strong recognition.
Gemma Beddington from Oxford, England
ON BALANCE VERY ENJOYABLE
Surprised at how good the singing was, agree with some of the reviews Beverley Knight shouting rather than singing one of the songs, her daughter was awkward with unnatural dancing and dialogue difficult to understand. However, I would go again as the singing and the dancing by the 4 fellas was lovely. I felt the adults worked extremely hard and put their heart and soul into the performance. A few things could be improved arguably, but they got a standing ovation for a Wednesday matinee and the audience enjoyed it. I have left plenty of other shows feeling disappointed and it was quite interesting to hear the challenges faced but a little confusing at times. The smell of cigarette smoke during the interval wasn’t pleasant. Garrick seating isn’t bad compared to some other theatres. Good location, easy to find and you will be humming those songs for days afterwards.
Lesley M from Sevenoaks
GREAT SHOW
Fabulous show but very disappointed at the finale. They got everybody on their feet, ready to party, and then the cast couldn’t wait to leave the stage. No encore!
Lilian from Preston, Lancashire, England
DRIFTERS GIRL
Enjoyed the show - the cast worked tremendously hard - not a bad word to say about any of them. They were all brilliant.
John from Suffolk/ Essex border
MOSTLY GREAT
The stage presentation excellent, the actors playing the Drifters , in their guises, were superb , wonderful singing .Beverly Knights understudy performed ..that was disappointing and only named at start of performance . Criticism , why play a selection of their songs before and during the interval .
Lisa from London, England
NO SINGING ALLOWED
We were told not to sing along or stand up until the end , other reviews say they were singing and dancing in the aisles , amazing show and singers the actress p,aging her daughter was outstanding pity she didnt have more stage time to act and sing rather than be treated like a stage hand moving the scenery and props
Jan Pallas from Newcastle
DISAPPOINTING
Accent so strong difficult to pick up some words . Only parts of Driftets songs sung throughout until very end and one song sung all the way through. Story was good acting was good and the 6 worked very hard. Beverley Knight shouted rather than sang which was hard to listen to. Very disappointed there was no encore singing 1/2 more songs in full.
Drifter’s fan from London, England
GOOD
The small cast of 5 adults and 1 child worked their socks off. Great singing by all. Beverley Knight was fabulous. The story told the journey of the Drifters through many iterations up to the point of the trial that came in favour of Faye Treadwell, their manager. The timeline is a little difficult to follow as changes were happening all the time. No chorus singing and dancing as there is no chorus. But on the whole a good nights entertainment that received a standing ovation.
Gail Gee from London, England
DISAPPOINTED
Something was missing, well the wonderful Beverley Knight was for a start but her understudy was excellent. All the cast were superb in their multi-role talents, but the flat, depressing script failed to lift the show.
Malc from London, England
GREAT VOICES BUT POOR DIALOGUE
Dont know why the cast used steteotypical southern american accents so thick that it was imperceivable some of the time. It was a shame because the cast was fabulous. The girl had the best diction of all.
Rosa from Manchester
WHY THE DEEP SOUTH ACCENTS WHEN GROUP FROM NYC
Would have been better with less strong deep south accents .Cast was great singing perfect .Group was from New York so NYC accent would have been more authentic. Difficult to understand
Brian from London, England
DRIFTERS GIRL,
Big Beverly knight fan ,feel she was totally underused ,as for the story ,you will find yourself trying to focus, but losing the will to stay with it, found the second half slightly better then the first ,especially towards the end ,where the show did kick into something like I expected it to be ,but all too brief, on the whole a big disappointment
Amanda from Wales
THE DRIFTERS GIRL MUSICAL
I was expecting very uplifting show especially with Beverley Knight vocals but was left disappointed. Story line to long should have more songs with Beverley knight singing . Cast of 6 worked hard the male vocals weren’t the best and very boring set . Seen so many shows in London but this I would say was the bottom of the list.
from London, England
NOT HAPPY AT ALL
Went yesterday to the matinee. To start with the theatre seating very cramped with no social distance seating wise. Just before it started audience was told ONLY UNDERSTUDIES through Covid. Everything now blamed on Covid. Not happy considering the price of the tickets paid to only see understudies. This is the second time gone to see Beverley Knight in Musical using understudy. The story was boring, hard to understand their accent. No stage hands to bring on stage props. Drifter singers had to be jack of all trades. No lovely back drops or sparkles. All I can say is I wouldn't recommend this musical, the best thing was the fantastic band which you only saw the last five minutes.
John Callaghan from Essex , England
NO ENCORE … REALLY DISAPPOINTED
I love the Drifters and was very much looking forward to my first theatre visit for 2 years . The songs are fantastic and Beverley Knight and the boys performances were first class . However storyline not the easiest to follow and the small cast multi tasking characters felt a bit cheap …. no reflection on the actors themselves . The very strict no singing along or dancing during the performance was made even worse with the one song encore … no medley , no chance to really show your appreciation and as this was the last part of the show it does very much over shadow the whole experience . The last thing remembered . Didn’t meet my expectations but can’t take away from the fact the cast gave 100p/c and for that I thank them .
P Spencer from London, England
VERY POOR SHOW.
No storyline. No set to speak of. Quite honestly it appeared that the writers thought that they only had to sing a few good Drifters songs, write a lame storyline, provide no set and make a load of money. Performances from the individuals playing the Drifters roles, sang well, as did Beverley Knight, but the latter spoke with a dreadful Southern accent, throughout her performance, which was very irritating; she also shouted, rather than speak her lines. This role did not do Ms Knights reputation any favours.
Susan from Essex
DISSAPOINTING SHOW
Paid good money for the tickets and the dialogue was poor throughout. Totally lost in the story and the small cast were jack of all trades during the show. On the upside the singing was amazing and the last five minutes of the show was quite good.
Frikkie Werknie from London, England
A TITLE IS JUST A TITLE
Whilst Beverley is an excelent singer this show was a sad reflection of what she can do. Weak vocals, no stage presence, poor lighting and ZERO set!! Who was the set designer? Should be fired ! Left at half time. Total waste of my time and money!
L from London, England
DRIFTERS GIRL
Worst show I have ever seen. Poor story and cheap production Love Beverly Knight but so disappointed. Save your money
Mrs More from Cambridgeshire
TERRIBLE
Worst night in theatre ever. No Beverly Knight, had stand ins…. Left after 1hr. So disappointed. Story boring.Wouldn’t go again if given for free(although we paid £195.00 to go!!) So disappointed as it was a Christmas present from my husband.Don’t bother.
