Packs an emotional punch. Vanessa Kirby is magnetic as Julie
Mail on Sunday
The Crown's Vanessa Kirby has swapped Buckingham Palace for the Lyttelton this summer as she stars in Polly Stenham's modern take on August Strindberg's Miss Julie.
With Carrie Cracknell directing, Miss Julie has dropped the Miss and has transcended into contemporary London but retains its shocking look at social division, making this production as timely as ever.
Julie is a wild soul, having just become newly single Julie throws open her home for a lavish late night party. As the party rages on Jean and Kristina are left to clear up the debris but when Jean decides to step over Julie's threshold he becomes embroiled in Julie's hunt for power, leaving them both entwined in a fight for survival.
