A VIBRANT SHOW THAT DAZZLES AND THRILLS

I needed this joy, this exuberance, this unadulterated shot of adrenaline after months of being starved of live theatre. And this production delivers on all levels. For me, this is so much better than the film with its hours of takes to achieve the right shot, for here we are in the ephemeral moment as the story unfolds, sharing the spectacular dancing, the comedy, the timing, the rapport between each performer. It is tangible and thrilling. I despair of critics who compare the film with the stage musical. They are two completely different genres. The film is never going to change no matter how often we watch it, the live show, particularly this show, is totally immersive and we experience every exuberant moment, as this incredibly talented Company helps us transcend the mundane. I was sitting in the First Circle row D2. Slightly envious of not being within the superbly splashy footwork of the leading man as he danced in the rain! Outstanding team work from everyone involved. Go. Enjoy.

SMASHTASTIC VIBRANCY, HUMOUR AND STELLA CAST

Oh my! Booked for Kevin clifton, yet wow! The whole cast was fab and Faye really stole my heart as Lina, absolute treasure. Cooper is a beautiful dancer and the iconic scene a treat. Charlotte lovely as Cathy, and Kevin as Cosmos just fab! Would love to also see Faye play Cathy although she did Lina so proud. Worth a visit and a fun evening to be had. Bit of dancing, singing and acting a lush blend for a theatre show all rounder set in the lovely Sadler's Wells theatre.

Phenomenal dancing, incredible singing and brilliant acting from all involved. The best musical I have seen in a while. A joy to watch from beginning to end. Go and see it. Thank you to everyone, from the cast to those behind the scenes. Do go and see this. I could enjoy this time and time again.

BRILLIANT

This show is definitely a crowd pleaser. The entire cast was excellent - fantastic singing, dancing and comedy! How could you not enjoy such an magical evening of entertainment in the live theatre? I was not the only one who enjoyed it - the applause, cheering and standing ovations at the end says it all.

JOYFUL AND UPLIFTING

I booked hoping to see the wonderful Adam Cooper (saw him in Swan Lake) and my daughter was keen to see Faye from Steps too. Neither were in the Glasgow cast last night, but in the end it didn’t matter (though we would still like to see them in the parts too) because the entire cast were stunning and performed as if they were loving it. It’s a huge ask to take on such iconic parts, especially Gene Kelly’s but it’s impossible to single anyone out. All were superb. And who knew Kevin from Strictly could sing too! This was a fresh joyful show with fantastic singing, acting and one exuberant dance sequence after another, whether it was an ensemble piece or the main characters. On one of the hottest nights of the year so far with the audience feeling the heat, it must have been tougher to perform such a physical show, but there was no sign of that from the cast. There have to be differences from the film we all love but the staging was clever and the costumes gorgeous. 5 stars to all.
