STUNNINGLY ORIGINAL

The transformation of the Playhouse into the Kit Kat club is a master stroke. Jessie Buckley’s powerful performance made me feel the pain of Sally Bowles’ character and Eddie Redmayne was equally astonishing. Absolutely fabulous!

A.MA.ZING!!

I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see it again to take it all in as it’s sensory overkill. Eddie redmayne is sensational and Jessie Buckley really portrays the vulnerability in her character - oh and she can sing too!! The set and staging are so clever and so different. The comments about the storyline getting a bit lost are fair but it’s left me wanting to know more about the times. The rise of the nazis lurking in the background is eerie and so well captured. It’s definitely the show of the year.

OUTSTANDING MUST SEE

I have seen Cabaret numerous times and it’s always been a favourite of mine .This production was breathtaking in every way !I wanted to pinch myself to check that I really was in the KitKat Club .You didn’t just watch the incredible performances of the talented cast ,you were immersed in the whole storytelling experience !!! No weak links ,fabulous costume ,imaginative staging ,delicious choreography etc etc Eddie was off the scale and for me The Emcee of all time ! I loved Jesse’s portrayal of the real Sally Bowles ,stripped back and raw with not a jazz hand in sight .The whole cast were exceptional in every way including the amazing orchestra and musicians .The emotions I felt throughout the show took my breath away and the tears flowed at the end because I didn’t want it to ! One for the memory banks .I feel so privileged to have seen it …..Thankyou

THE BEST SHOW OF THE YEAR.. OF MANY YEARS...

Outstanding production, cast, music.. All performed in our own wonderful, decadent Kit Kat Club. Get a ticket... You won't regret it.

PHENOMENAL

An absolutely stunning show. The overall experience was so detailed, from the moment you enter the immersive world of the Kit Kat Club, through the bars, into the auditorium and throughout the show. Tom Scutt's design work is breath taking. The director, Rebecca Frecknal's approach to the work is bold and layered relaying the story of the time but with a modern dynamic that makes it entirely relatable. The cast capture the characters brilliantly and really immerse you into their world with stunning choreography by Julia Cheng and Kayla Lomas-Kirton and a wonderful musical score by Jennifer Whyte. I won't say too much except go and experience it for yourself. A show not to be missed!

MESMERISING… A FRESH TAKE ON A FAMILIAR FAVOURITE

If you are expecting (or needing) a Bob Fosse type of song n dance production with lots of razzmatazz and a reprise of Liza Minnelli’s iconic screen performance - this is not for you… Instead it is a fresh look at the subject, much more nuanced and with exceptional performances from all the cast that bring imagination and commitment to what is actually a very tawdry and seedy story. Redmayne brilliantly holds the production together and delivers a great comic first half and a suitably sinister second. For me, Jessie Buckley was the stand out performance both vocally and in the quieter moments. Really astonishing and I really hope to be able to sell the other kidney and come back again…10/10

stunning ESCAPIST Spectacular

In here, life is beautiful, and if it's all going to be this good, I'd like to stay forever.

The production begins from your allotted start time as you enter the repurposed Playhouse Theatre - now transformed into the Kit Kit Club by Ambassador Theatre Group and Underbelly into the Weimar era nightclub of the musical.
