THE DOCTOR

I saw the matinee performance on Wednesday 21st September, The understudy played the title role as Juliet Stevenson was indisposed. She was excellent. The basic plot of the play is the battle between medical ethics and religious rites..... that much is very clear, but who and what were all the other characters meant to be representing? I and my companions were left confused at the close of play; but must acknowledge the powerful acting from Miss Stevenson's understudy who gave a truly great performance. Just felt the play was most confusing and went on too long.
