Family ShowsChristmas ShowsPantomime

The Palladium Pantomime is back this Christmas!

Following the resounding success of 2016's Cinderella, Qdos Entertainment returns to mount a brand new production of that panto classic, Dick Whittington starring actual West End Royalty Elaine Paige and her loyal subjects Charlie Stemp, Paul Zerdin, Emma Williams, Gary Wilmot, Nigel Havers, Lukus Alexander, Ashley Banjo and Diversity and the one and only Julian Clary.

A story of courage and perseverance

An old English folklore tale from the middle ages, we follow the story of Dick Whittington, a young man who was orphaned at an early age. Living in a quiet village, he plans to head to a place called London, as he has heard people describe it as being "paved with gold". Hoping to mine as much gold as possible from these streets, he heads off to the city with his beloved cat - only to find that reality is very different.

Taken in by a kindly merchant, he sells his cat to help the man control the mice on his trading ship; Dick is bullied relentlessly by the household's cook, and he is plagued by mice. But when the merchant returns, he has news for Dick that turns his life around completely - and a very special friend who is glad to see him.

What we thought

hysterical PANTO Fun

If you're looking to smile, shout, boo, hiss and holler, don't miss Dick. My face still hurts from laughing!

The London Palladium score with this genuinely delightful and hysterically funny romp, complete with Julian Clary doing a Titanic bit, huge set pieces and plenty of bawdy humour.
