Why See The Messiah?
A Festive Comedy
One of the oldest stories ever told gets a revamp this Christmas as The Messiah heads to The Other Palace for a month of festive hilarity. Starring Hugh Dennis, John Marquez and Lesley Garrett, fall head over heels for this new comedy from Olivier Award winner, Patrick Barlow.
As one travelling theatre troupe arrives in London it's up to them to recreate the most famous story in the world. But with only two actors and one opera singer, what's created is a sublime, somewhat ridiculous and all-out hilarious enactment of the Biblical tale. A comedy perfect for the season, leave what you thought you knew about the Nativity at the door and immerse yourself in this brand new tale.
Opening night: 3 December 2018

Everything is well judged. Everything works. From the direction and choreography to the set, the lights, the score, the band. From the top of Olympus to the depths of Hades. It's heavenly.
