GREAT ADAPTATION FOR ALL THE FAMILY

Had a wonderful time seeing his performance this morning. Took 5 children ranging from 4 years to 10 years, plus my sister, me and our mum! All thoroughly enjoyed it! Our mum read the story to us as children, and we in turn have read it to ours. There were extra bits added like songs, but they stuck to the story, some of it word for word. Even dressed the same! Would recommend!

A REAL PLEASURE

We took a four- and six-year-old to this show first thing today and we all had a brilliant time. It is a simple piece of theatre and that's its charm. The three main actors were wonderful and this production perfectly introduced the youngsters to what the stage can offer.

GREAT FOR LITTLE PEOPLE

Took a group of under 6s this afternoon, who all thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It’s designed and written for young children and they enjoy it. Take your children while they still enjoy life’s simple pleasures: it’s a short magical period.

AMATEUR ACTING, PROFESSIONAL PRICES

My six your old granddaughter enjoyed it but wasn't thrilled by it. It was very thin - the tiger was great but once he went offstage the show should have been over - that last fifteen minutes were painful to sit through, Hideous acting from the woman who played the child - with some sort of weird speech thing going on that needs some serious attention. It was about the level of a decent am-dram village panto. NOT worth the ridiculous ticket prices.

STILL FRIGHTENED TODAY

Positives - memorable for my kids, who enjoyed the show. Appreciate the bit of interactively. Negatives - Sophie really should have been played by a child. The rag doll tick tock thing she did still gives me nightmares and I am a 40 year old man. I'm still surprised my kids have not pissed the bed.

NOT GOOD

Took my 2.5 year old who loves the book. She found it entertaining but I did not at all! Wanted to leave half way through. Overpriced for what it was, rubbish songs, weird for a grown woman to play Sophie, and a bit Am-Dram. Comparatively I saw Tiddler & Other tales last year and it was excellent!

OVER STUFFED TIGER

The popular children's story comes to the stage with an excellent set and true to the story tiger and characters. And that's where any enjoyment ends. This is a production suitable only for very small children (4 or under)ie those who can't spot this is rubbish. The TTWCTT is a not a substantial story in the first place and this production is padded like a cheap sofa particularly after the Tiger leaves - another 15 minutes of vacuous songs heroically performed. The cast work hard but cannot make a silk purse out a sow's ear of the writer's appallingscript/songs. That said my 9 year old and I laughed through the last 15 minutes and the Yummy Scrummy Sausages song and its 1,2,3,4 choruses. AVOID (LIKE THE BLACK DEATH)

I can’t believe that this London “show” charges so much money for what it is!!! Absolutely awful!!! At best it would be good for a 1 year old. Anyone older than 1 would not find this entertaining at all. I was literally counting down the minutes for this repetitive “show” to be over. Paid £90 for tickets and I’m still in shock at how bad it was.

EMBARRASSINGLY BAD

My 4 year old grandson was clearly bored and, judging by the lack of engagement from children around us, so were most the audience. Unbelievably thin content, zero humour that you would actually laugh at, and treatment of the audience as if they're imbeciles. A very cynical marketing exercise. Avoid. What's concerning, is it it was a given positive reviews by the guardian and timeout. It does make you wonder what's motivating some critics.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

Went to see this in Belfast with family. Absolutely awful… not slick, not entertaining and rarely funny. The quality of set and acting wouldn’t have been passable for a performance in a school hall let alone the Ulster hall. The acting was awful, there has to be a way of telling a story without patronising everyone there!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

Awful adaptation of a fabulous story. It was boring, amateur, awkward singing interaction and young Sophie was interpreted by a +50 year old lady! Very disappointing. Profesional prices for a very amateur play that could come easily from a high school performance. Do not bother to waste your time & money.

DREADFUL

The book is an absolute classic, full of dignity and charm. This adaption is the polar opposite, it's cheap, repetitive, boring and the wonderful characters from the book are butchered on the stage. Avoid.

SECOND-HAND EMBARRASMENT

I was squirming with second-hand embarrassment that my cheeks probably went red. My mum (child's grandmother) cringed really hard too. Super bad acting and just very, very weird. Even within the first 5 minutes it was odd, and it just got worst at time went on. And they just dragged out the horrendous acting of the tiger really slowly strutting everywhere like he was forward moonwalking. Very odd. We were waiting to get out really to save face from further cringe. How this is in London West End is beyond me, do not recommend. I'm writing this almost a year later, and I still think about my second-hand embarrassment!
