Antony Sher leads thr thrilling conclusion as the corrupt Falstaff

Antony Sher returns with the RSC to London's Barbican to restage the hit Kings and Country's series of Shakespeare's plays. Henry IV has been split once again into two separate productions, with this, Part II providing an uproarious and chaotic conclusion to the story. Part II carries on where we left off, with Hal facing the imminent death of his father, and the prospect of choosing between his royal duty and loyalty to a corrupt Falstaff.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The King's health is failing but he still remains concerned that his son Prince Hal isn't up to the task of inheriting the throne. Meanwhile, Hal's hell-raising friend Sir John Falstaff has been to the countryside to recruit fresh troops for Henry's cause - however he is only concerned with lining his pockets with the King's gold. Hal is faced with a difficult choice as his father's health continues on a downward spiral; he must choose between duty to the English throne and loyalty to his old friend. Shakespeare's epic conclusion proves heartbreaking for Hal, but will Falstaff get away with his corrupt practices?

Sher wowed the audiences during the first run at the Barbican earlier this year as the libertine Falstaff, and will once again be joined by Jasper Britton as Henry IV and Alex Hassell as Prince Hal. To buy tickets for Henry IV Part One, click on the link.
