Closing out the popular pop-up theatre in London's Soho, Sam Shepard presents a black comedy about love and loss set against the stark background of the Mojave Desert, starring Ripper Street's Adam Rotherberg (in his stage debut )and Lydia Wilson. Critically acclaimed across the board, Fool For Love has been described by Exeunt magazine as " Shepard for the Netflix generation", opening up theatre for a new legion of theatregoers. The culmination of a year-long season for Found111, this gripping and scathing exploration of relationships is the perfect way to wave goodbye - at least for now!
Written in 1983, Shepard's play originated at the National Theatre, starring Julie Walters and Ian Charleson; it only arrived on Broadway this year at the Friedman Theatre, despite its great reviews. Exploring a disturbing phenomenon of incestuous passion between two isolated siblings in the vast desert, an emotional tug of war between the two, trying to live out a fantasy of living in the romantic old West in the confines of a dilapidated old motel room.
