Why See In The Heights?

Musicals

The OLIVIER-winning musical hit continues its London reign!

Winner of the prestigious Tony Award for Best New Musical, In The Heights was last staged in London in 2014 at Southwark Theatre, but new for 2015, London welcomes it back to a brand-new venue; the Kings Cross Theatre. The production received four 2016 Olivier nominations, two including the coveted Best New Musical award, and winning two awards at the glittering ceremony!

The story is set in Washington Heights in Manhattan, where its closely knit inhabitants find life a struggle but the area is nevertheless jumping to the irresistible rhythms of love, passion, hopes and dreams. A young love story provides the driving force of the musical with a background comprising three generations of music.

As life unfolds on the block, the music and dance captures the residents on the brink of change, struggling with the clash of old and new, in a vivid and dynamic show that displays energetic and colourful choreography, infused with Latin soul, hip hop beats and fiery salsa.

This musical is a thrilling evening of unforgettable songs and amazing choreography that is infused with the scorching rhythms and vibrant energy of a Manhattan heatwave. A word-of-mouth sensation on Broadway that had audiences returning repeatedly, this life-affirming story will enthral and delight audiences of all ages.
