DANNY BAYNE WAS ELECTRIFYING ON OPENING NIGHT

We have probably seen 50 West End musicals in the last ten years, but the raw talent we saw on stage at the Piccadilly theatre tonight is probably the greatest we have ever witnessed. Young Danny Bayne was clearly born to the role of Danny Zucko! A star was born in London tonight and all I can say is that long may he continue to grace the musical theatre stage in the West End.

WHAT A SHOW!

Went to see Grease on the opening night 8th Aug and what a night! The whole cast were great and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Danny and Susan were good but the character that stood out for me was Eugene played by Tim Newman. Very funny and put everything into it. Would recommend this to everybody to see. Congratulations to all the cast.I will definitely be going again!

PRESS NIGHT GREASE

Went to see this on press night. The cast excelled themselves and gave the impression they had been playing this show for years. Very exciting and energetic performances for Susan McFadden and Danny B ( got a big smile from him!) :-) dont believe the papers reviews! Had trouble staying seated because of they catchy songs. Had good seats at front of upper circle. A good show for older children.

GREASE

Went to see it Sept 1st. Had spectacular seats in the grand circle. The best show I have seen in ages. Danny made a little mistake but he recovered very well. Both Danny and Susan were spot on choices from the TV show. I would love to see it again. The audience was singing along. Just pure brilliance.

The show is just brilliant, the cast are fabulous, very very good. Rizzo has an amazing voice, along with of course Danny and Sandy. We were on row D is the stalls, amazing view, very comfortable. Danny is amazing, voice, dancing and acting all perfect. Sandy again, perfect as if there have been playing these parts for years. After the show we happened to be walking past the stage door, Danny was very relaxed in giving autographs and doing photos. Excellent show, you will not be dissapointed.

ITS THE ONE THAT I WANT

19.01.09 and Jimmy Osmond's opening night as 'Teen Angel' - the very reason for me going. I was blown away by the whole production from lights to vocals. My friend and I had seats in the Royal Circle row B practically centre stage with a great view. If you fancy something to eat prior to seeing the show, just round the corner is Garfunkels a lovely atmosphere for the family its just a shame it doesn't have facillities for the disabled. If you want a great day out in London go see Grease or any show at this beautiful theatre.

ANTH

Went to see this show 24 October 2009, was expecting it to be not very good after my friend had been there 2 days before and said Ray Quinn was very young for the part! All i can say is that the show was fantastic Ray Quinn was fantastic really funny and personally I thought very sexy in the the part of Danny! I was not a Ray Quinn fan before seeing him perform in this show, but after seeing him I would love to see more! The show was great and a really feel good atmosphere! If I was staying in London longer I would have paid to go back! Go see it for yourself and go with it! Trust me Ray Quinn is fantastic!!!!!

BRILLIANT

went to see this musical 29.12.08 and really enjoyed it. All the cast were fantastic and all of their voices were super. Everyone was singing and dancing in the audience, even though it was slightly different to the film. I would definatly recommend to anyone who enjoys a fun musical.

GOOD FAMILY FUN

Very enjoyable show although Dannys voice isn,t really up to it. Would recommend this show though. We had a really good family night.

GREASE LIGHTNING

A real shame that the singing was a bit weak in places. As a regular theatre goer this was not the greatest show by any means, but it was by no means the worst. The theatre was good with the only complaint i had was the air conditioning was too cold. I would say an adequate show for all the family

RAY QUINN HAD LITTLE STAGE PRESENCE

The overall cast were good, but Ray Quinn let the whole thing down. I am not particularly a fan but was hoping that he would be strong enough to carry the lead off, but he had no stage presence and his accent was so awful you couldn't understand a word he was saying. His dance moves were good, but we were a bit worried that he was going to drop Cha Cha in the dance routine as the lifts were quite taxing. There was no chemistry between him and Sandy and you wondered why she fell for him so badly! Natalie Langston as Rizzo really carried the show, and Jason Capewell as Teen Angel was superb, hitting some fantastic high notes. A fun show but don't bother going just to see Ray!

GREASE ..DISAPPOINTING

i would agree with other reviews ,ray quinn spoilt the show ,his solo singing was poor and also his acting ,he had no sex appeal like john travolta had at all ,i would also agree that the 2nd half did improve as the singing was better as a group ,we also went to see we will rock you ,and to my surprise it was by far more a top show ,great actors ,great singers and great stage appearance ,i would rate grease as a small town amateur musical and rate we will rock you as first class ,a totally different experience ,amazing

RAY QUINN! WHAT A LET DOWN

I went to see Grease 08/08/09. Ray Quinn let the whole thing down. The rest of the cast were fab. I like Ray but he should not of been given this role. His voice wasn't strong enough at all. If fact there were parts where he looked un-interested. and just stood there wiping sweat off his face. All the songs were muddled up which i didn't like. I would not of paid £55 a ticket if I knew what it waas going to be like.

DISAPPOINTED

The actors were very good especially the girl who played Frenchie, she was amazing and really had me thinking she was Frenchie. Completed disappointed that it wasn’t actually Grease. I tend to avoid classics for this reason but my daughter wanted to see it. It just wasn’t Grease which made me want to leave. I was expecting it to follow the film but hey ho it was something to do while in London.

GREASE PICCADILLY THEATRE LONDON

My friend and I were thrilled to get 2 'good' seats for this show at £37.50 which was £20 off the face value Unfortunately the show itself was fairly disappointing, the majority of the actors seemed to either look the part, or sound the part, but not both! The male dancers were excellent if rather camp, and the female dancers were very good. Overall we were unimpressed, and the majority of the audience seemd to agree, with very few real laughs and no one bothering to 'clap along' when it seemed to be called for. It all lacked the wow factor for us with a very amatuerish feel, and had we paid the full £57 for each ticket, would have felt really quite ripped off. NOT suitable for the many young children who were there, definitely one for older teens and adults, The bar ( as all in London Theatres) was extortionate ( a small white house wine ( not chilled ) & a vodka & orange was £11.40. Get the DVD of the original and save the money!

I FOUND GREASE DISAPPOINTING.

The first half of the show I felt was particularly weak, some performances felt amateurish with little connection being shown between either those on stage or the audience, compared to another west end show I saw recently . It felt uncomfortable and awkward at times. I was shocked to read that Ray Quinn & Emma Stephens are an item off stage, as I could not believe in their on stage relationship. My Eyes were drawn to Ray Quinn, after enjoying his performances on Dancing on Ice - it felt like watching a young boy in what should be a mans role...Sorry! I was especially annoyed that when he was on stage, but not the main character at that time, that he showed no connection to what was going on else where and was often seen to be chatting or looking disinterested. When he nuzzled in to women's breasts it was cringe worthy, and not funny as I think was intended. However! the overall performance did improve in the 2nd half - I expected more for my money & more from a west end musical!

RAY JUST ISN'T MAN ENOUGH.

The only reason I went to see Grease 20.08.09 was that Ray Quinn was in it. I expecting a fantastic performance from an round entertainer. What a disappointment. He just was not man enough to carry offf the role. Although he played the part enthusiastically his American accent was appaling, his acting poor and his singing was not up to what we have come to expect from the X Factor runner up. He basically did a very poor impersonation of John Travolta. He tried to copy Travolta's walk, facial expressions and accent. He failed on all counts and it would have been much better if he had mde the part his own. I paid £55 for the ticket, great view of the stage but this is the first time I have left a West End theatre ( and I have been to many) feeling that the show did not live up to my basic expectations of a West End production. Do not make the same mistake as me - don't go to see it just to see Ray, you are going to be let down.

ONLY FOR DIE HARD GREASE FANS!

Left disappointed by this show as there is very little of the original story left. Would call this more of a musical tribute than anything else. Not much atmosphere on the night we saw it either.

GREASE PICCADILLY THEATRE

Show very amateur-Danny Bayne very wooden made a few mistakes seemed unsure of himself.Susan McFadden can sing at times but dancers carried the show.Very disappointed lacked oomph slow start skipped huge parts of story known very bitty and all over the place.Worst show I have seen in a long time waste of money. On same par as local drama club but hiring four great dancers to carry the show.Scrap.There was no usual cheering or standing ovations just lots of disappointment.Tickets overpriced heavily for what you see personal opinion.Eugene only one who could act with girl that played Rizzo.

2.0 star rating Andre from London, England

DISAPPOINTING

Positives: dancing and the ensemble songs were well done Negatives: leads were sleep walking thru the performance with the exception of “Frenchie”. Sandy has a lovely voice on the ballads, but was not believable. Zero chemistry with Danny. All leads struggled with American accents. Danny and the other male tones lacked the machismo required for the roles. Biggest disappointment was the performance of “Your one that I want”. Totally lacked the energy required in the finale. Sandy failed to strut herself enough, leaving you feeling she capitulated rather than owning her new sassy self.

1.5 star rating Disapointed from London

WHAT A LET DOWN

went to show at weekend expecting to see Ray Quinn and friends, what we actually show was a second rate show with second string actors and actresses. all this for premium prices and no concessions for the poor presentation, what a let down.
